In a move to bolster their secondary, the New York Giants have brought in a familiar face to the Big Blue faithful. Adoree’ Jackson is set to sign with the Giants on a one-year deal, as reported by NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo on Friday.
Ranked at No. 58 on Gregg Rosenthal’s Top 100 free agents list, Jackson is finally ending his stint as a free agent by returning to the team where he has spent the last three seasons.
Originally drafted in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Tennessee Titans, Jackson spent his first four seasons in Nashville before making the move to New York in 2021. Despite not quite finding his groove in Wink Martindale’s defensive scheme last season, there is optimism that Jackson could thrive under new defensive coordinator Shane Bowen, who formerly coached him as the Titans’ outside linebackers coach.
In the 2023 season, Jackson recorded 63 tackles, eight passes defensed, and one interception that he returned for a 76-yard touchdown. Throughout his career, the cornerback has appeared in 83 games, starting in 77 of them, including 14 starts last season. In total, Jackson has racked up 376 tackles, four interceptions, five forced fumbles, and 56 pass breakups.
Speaking on his return to the Giants, Jackson stated, “I’m excited to be back with the guys and ready to contribute in any way I can to help the team win.”
His former Titans teammate and current Giants player, Logan Ryan, also expressed his excitement at the reunion, saying, “Adoree’ brings a lot to the table with his speed and playmaking ability. I think he will be a great addition to our secondary.”
With the addition of Jackson, the Giants are hoping to strengthen their defense and make a push for the playoffs in the upcoming season. Stay tuned for more updates as Jackson officially joins the Big Blue family once again.
