In the aftermath of the Baltimore Ravens’ season-opening defeat, quarterback Lamar Jackson was noticeably absent from the team’s practice on Monday, four days after their loss.
Coach John Harbaugh was rather elusive when questioned about Jackson’s absence, along with other players who were not participating. “We had a number of guys that weren’t out there. Some personal, some physical,” Harbaugh told reporters. “Injury report comes out on Wednesday afternoon, so you’ll be better advised on that day regarding all those guys.”
Jackson had showcased his skills in the Ravens’ 27-20 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, playing all 74 offensive snaps. The MVP had a strong performance both in the air and on the ground, throwing for 273 yards and a touchdown on 26-of-41 passing, while also rushing for 122 yards on 16 carries.
Despite missing several practices earlier in training camp due to illness, Jackson was not mentioned on the injury report leading up to the season opener. The Ravens, now at 0-1 for the season, will hit the field again on Wednesday as they gear up for their Week 2 home game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
